Objectives:

• To determine the difference between self-harm, suicide, & para-suicide.

• To develop an understanding of the concept ‘Suicidal Ideation’.

•  To develop an understanding of ‘how’ & ‘why’ children & young people might self-harm.

• To understand the consequences of self-harming.

• To enhance your awareness around Self-Harm & the Internet.

•  To become knowledgeable in being able to support a child or young person who self-harm.

• To gain awareness of managing ligatures & the approach needed to support children & young people in these situations.
