Radicalisation, Extremism & Terrorism

Objectives:

· To recognise the difference between ‘Radicalism, Extremism & Terrorism’.

· To gain awareness of key theories of terrorism.

· To identify the dangers of online radicalisation.

· To look at the different categories of violent extremism.

· To identify factors & vulnerabilities that could contribute to children & young people being radicalised.

· To understand the UK Counter-Terrorist Strategy ‘CONTEST’ focussing particularly on the ‘Prevent’ element.

· To develop an understanding of how you can support children & young people potentially being radicalised.
